The Utility-scale Development team at RWE Clean Energy is responsible for initiating, developing, and acquiring utility-scale Solar, Wind and Energy Storage projects in the US and Canada. The **VP, Development and Digital Optimization** ensures the Portfolio Management, Process, and Digital Optimization of RWECE’s development excellence through to COD.
Role Responsibilities:
+ Reporting to the SVP, Head of Utility-scale Development, be part of the management team of the Onshore Renewables Development together with the other Regional VPs
+ Portfolio Management of the Pipeline and Development Operations – monitor and evaluate development KPI progression, lead coordination of approvals, provide reporting across departments, ensure OKR reporting, QBR
+ Refine End to End Development process and sync the process across Development RVPs, Cross Functional Departments, Integrate into Digital Tools and Practices
+ Manage Development Partnerships and JV Governance 5+ Partnerships in coordination with RVP development organization
+ Digital Tool Development, Integration and Efficiency – Salesforce, SiteTracker, GIS, Irthland
+ Lead Coordination Annual / Quarterly Budget Forecasting across 40+GW Pipeline
Job Requirements and Experiences:
+ Bachelor's degree in STEM, business/economics, or relevant fields required
+ Advanced degree is a plus.
+ Minimum 18 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 15 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 12 years’ experience
+ Minimum 10 years of work experience applicable to renewable energy infrastructure, including experience in developing energy infrastructure projects in the US
+ Track record managing significant digital tools and integration into development process
+ Management of a Development Pipeline
+ Strong knowledge in key areas, including energy markets, prospecting, real estate development, interconnection, permitting, environmental, project engineering, construction management
+ Hard Digital Fluency in development digital tools: Site Tracker, Salesforce, GIS, Land Management products
+ Ability to manage multiple teams
+ Exceptional project management skills
+ Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
+ Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
+ Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
+ Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
+ Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
+ Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
+ Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
+ Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
+ Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
+ Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
+ This position is an office-based role with significant travel 30%+ and visits to other RWECE offices and field locations
+ Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
**Pay range:** The annual base salary range for this position in California or Illinois is $216,000 - $324,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
