    Job Summary and Qualifications

     

    The Product Manager will work closely with the Cerner National Team, corporate and division clinical informatics teams, and other business partners to ensure the Cerner EHR platform and solutions provide the highest possible value for caregivers by aligning both internal ITG and vendor resources with business and clinical needs. This role will collaborate with various leaders, product owners, and project managers across the enterprise to align those needs with what is viable in current and future EHR platforms and solutions. The Product Manager will be responsible for overseeing EHR teams, coordinating work efforts, management of risks, and supporting all designated efforts required for a implementations, optimizations, and ongoing operations. This role ensures that caregivers have the best possible EHR experience through multiple iterations of rapidly evolving Cerner and Oracle Health tools.

    Major Responsibilities:

    + Provides direction to EHR teams comprised of product analysts and engineers

    + Develops a deep understanding of caregiver user needs, HCA clinical priorities, and HCA business priorities; translates those needs to product and platform strategic priorities

    + Navigates, understands, and communicates data including but not limited to product usage tools, caregiver feedback surveys, and clinical and operational key metrics

    + Represent caregivers and business as product owner on development teams

    + Aggressively prioritize features, change requests, and products according to their viability in available technology and value for caregivers

    + Develop and maintain a rolling three-year platform strategy for the core EHR as well as supporting platforms such as device integration, interfaces, and analytics across both ambulatory and hospital environments

    + Work with managers, project managers, and program managers to organize work efforts appropriately

    + Coordination of efforts across multiple business lines to create a “big picture” view and collaborative team effort to meet product deliverables

    Other Responsibilities

    + Provides assistance and support to facilitate business needs as they arise.

    + Escalation of concerns or issues that could impact go lives or product success in a timely and detailed manner.

    + Attendance and participation in team and project meetings.

    + Provide detailed report outs and status updates to business as needed.

    + Propose recommendations, adjustments and/or process improvements to achieve success as needed with a mindset of continuous improvement.

    + Work with vendor and consultants to deliver quality support tools to assist in effective and efficient functional implementations.

    + Some travel may be required to support business efforts but will not be regular.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    + Practice and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”

    Education & Experience:

    + Bachelor's degree* required

    + 5+ years of experience in relevant technology work required

    + 3+ years of experience in product management preferred

    + 1+ year(s) of experience in EHR work preferred

    + 1+ year(s) of experience in leadership or leadership training preferred

    + *3-year grace period

    + Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

    + People management or team leadership experience preferred

    + Knowledge of business process improvement and workflow evaluation.

    + Strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.

    + Focused, versatile, and comfortable under pressure

    + Understand, orchestrate, and deliver on a given strategic initiative

    Travel Required

    + Occasional Travel: The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis.
