DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Dedham, MA
In this role will make an impact in the following ways:
+ Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
+ Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
+ Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
+ Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
+ Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
+ Maintain own tools
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
+ Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
+ Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
+ Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
+ Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
+ Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
+ Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Minimal level of work shop experience required
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
QUALIFICATIONS
Applies documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools Disassemble, inspect and clean engines and /or engine components Assists with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens Completes training in line with skill and business requirements Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
