Bard Graduate CenterMarketing ManagerBard Graduate Center (BGC) (https://www.bgc.bard.edu/) invites applications for Marketing Manager. This is a full-time, on-site position at our campus on West 86th Street in New York City.
The Bard Graduate Center is a graduate research institute in New York City dedicated to the study of the cultural history of the material world and committed to the encyclopedic study of things, drawing on methodologies and approaches from art and design history, history of technology, philosophy, anthropology, and archaeology and cultural history. Our students gravitate to careers in museums, academia, the art world, and publishing. Our MA and PhD degree programs, gallery exhibitions, research initiatives, and public programs explore new ways of thinking about decorative arts, design history, and material culture.
The Marketing Manager will report to and work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Design team on website management; marketing and communications plans; digital and social media advertising; content creation; media relations; project management; and department administration.
The Marketing Manager must take direction easily and enjoy working under the leadership of the Director, but be comfortable working independently as needed. The position requires the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines. The Manager will work closely with other departments throughout BGC and must have a positive, collaborative approach.

Responsibilities:
+ Website
+ Determine web gals and content strategy with BGC department heads and the Director of Marketing and Communications
+ Liaise with the contract web developer on new website features
+ Make daily content updates via Directus, BGC’s CMS
+ Troubleshoot bugs in coordination with the web developer
+ With web developer and IT department, fix bugs and maintain site security
+ Manage the institution's standalone WordPress site for its academic journals and its BigCommerce store site for publications sales
+ Participate in regular meetings with their departments to ensure web content is up-to-date; provide analytics
+ Social media
+ Develp BGC’s social media strategy on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
+ Create and publish content on a regular schedule
+ Track and analyze BGC social media metrics
+ Coordinate social media advertising campaigns
+ Media relations
+ Supprt BGC’s PR efforts by sourcing assets (photos, video, captions, etc.); coordinating and attending PR meetings and press previews
+ Maintain a lg of all BGC-related press clippings
+ Email marketing
+ Spearhead email marketing campaigns; manage HTML email templates
+ Maintain contact lists in Mailchimp; perform routine maintenance
+ Advertising
+ Collaborate with the Design department to develop and traffic digital ads
+ Other
+ Manage marketing partnerships and promotions
+ Maintain positive relationships with outside vendors
+ Coordinate promotional photo and video shoots
+ Track budgets and process invoices
+ Oversee student workers
+ Serve as an important point of contact with Visitor Services
+ Attend scheduled programs (exhibition openings, seminars and sympodia, fundraising events, etc.) as required
+ Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
+ Experience with WordPress and/or other CMS platforms
+ Experience with Mailchimp or other email platform
+ Knowledge of HTML and CSS
+ Prior marketing and social media experience
+ Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Photoshop
+ Highly detail oriented
+ Excellent organizational and communication skills
+ Strong written and verbal communications skills
+ Ability to excel under tight deadlines and independently manage projects
+ Outstanding work ethic
+ Successful collaborative and interpersonal skills
+ Ambitious and self-directed working style
+ A professional, friendly, and collaborative disposition

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in arts or humanities
+ An interest in the arts or art history
+ Previous experience in a museum or gallery setting
+ Experience with project management software such as Basecamp

Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $69,000+ a generous benefits package.
