    Basic Job Functions:

    The Galvanizing Line Process Engineer provides a support role in the department's decision making for operations, maintenance, and quality of the Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL) and supporting equipment. This involves process development and technical support operations for the CGL to ensure optimization of manufacturing processes for steel sheets, customer-specific requirements for new high-end quality steel sheets products, manufacturing reliability, operations, and maintenance requirements. Using data integration and statistical analysis, the Process Engineer monitors and analyzes the rolling process and equipment conditions to draw conclusions driving equipment maintenance, improvements, and upgrades.

     

    The Galvanizing Line Process Engineer develops and conducts technical training for the CGL team as required for safe and effective mill operation to provide quality steel, on time. In addition to other duties, the CGL Engineer assumes a leading role in process improvement, quality, and cost reduction efforts. This is an onsite position at our steel mill in Mason County, WV.

     

    Nucor Steel West Virginias greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located onsite in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineeringor a directly related field of study.

    + Three years of steel industry experience in engineering process support for cold mill production.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Galvanizing Line experience.

    + Experience with SQL databases.

    + Experience with ibaPDA and ibaAnalyzer software.

    + Experience leading cross-functional teams.
