Description We are looking for an experienced VP/Director of Finance to join our team on a contract basis in Carlsbad, California. In this role, you will provide strategic financial leadership, oversee reporting systems, and drive operational excellence to support business objectives. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and have a proven track record of enhancing financial processes and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement financial strategies to improve profitability, cost containment, and operational efficiency.

• Lead the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.

• Oversee monthly and annual close processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accuracy in journal entries.

• Create and maintain rolling cash flow projections to ensure effective financial planning.

• Partner with functional leaders to provide financial insights and improve decision-making across departments.

• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to analyze channel and product line profitability, while designing effective pricing models.

• Work closely with product development teams to optimize inventory levels and cost management.

• Drive initiatives to refine accounting policies, processes, and systems for greater efficiency and accuracy.

• Maintain robust internal controls and identify opportunities for operational and financial improvements.

• Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, ensuring their growth and performance optimization. Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior finance roles, including VP-level responsibilities.

• Expertise in accounting, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis (FP& A), and strategic financial planning.

• Strong background in process improvement, financial modeling, and IT systems optimization.

• Proven ability to manage cash flow, inventory tracking, and profitability analysis.

• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization.

• Proficiency in preparing annual budgets, month-end close activities, and cash flow forecasts.

• Advanced analytical skills with experience in ad hoc analysis, cost analysis, and data interpretation.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement pricing strategies and profitability models.
