Description We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. In this role, you will oversee the financial operations of retail properties, ensuring accurate accounting, compliance, and lease administration. This position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in property management accounting while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statements for retail properties.
• Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in compliance with organizational standards.
• Manage accounts payable processes for corporate and property operations using AvidXchange.
• Handle tenant billing activities and accounts receivable related to property operations.
• Assist with reconciliations for real estate taxes and insurance, issuing tenant billings as needed.
• Abstract lease agreements and accurately input data into the property management system.
• Maintain organized lease records, including tracking critical dates and ensuring compliance with lease terms.
• Analyze lease clauses to support reconciliation processes and correspond with tenants accordingly.
• Collaborate with property management and leasing teams on lease-related inquiries and updates.
• Communicate with tenants regarding various matters, such as inspection notices and sales reports. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong knowledge of lease administration, including abstracting lease documents and maintaining records.
• Familiarity with accounting software, including AppFolio, and property management systems.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in financial reporting and lease management.
• Ability to analyze lease clauses and reconcile tenant accounts effectively.
• Strong communication skills to interact with tenants and internal teams.
• Knowledge of real estate tax and insurance reconciliations is a plus.
