Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. This Contract position involves managing Medicaid home health billing processes, handling denials, and ensuring prior authorizations are completed efficiently. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in healthcare billing systems and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and schedules.
Responsibilities:
• Process Medicaid home health billing accurately and in compliance with regulations.
• Manage denials and appeals to ensure timely resolution of claims.
• Obtain prior authorizations for services and maintain thorough documentation.
• Schedule patient billing twice a week and create monthly patient schedules.
• Address and resolve outstanding accounts receivable buckets.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Allscripts and Cerner Technologies.
• Perform claim administration tasks and ensure compliance with benefit functions.
• Collaborate with home health agencies and skilled nursing facilities to streamline billing processes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicaid and private insurance policies, including Aetna, Anthem, Sentara, United, and more.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of all billing data using tools like Epaces and Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE). Requirements • Proven experience in medical billing, particularly within Medicaid and home health settings.
• Proficiency in healthcare billing systems such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and Epaces.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and claim administration.
• Ability to handle denials, appeals, and prior authorizations effectively.
• Familiarity with benefit functions and billing procedures for home health agencies and skilled nursing facilities.
• Skilled in using Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and resolve outstanding billing issues.
• Knowledge of Medicaid policies and private insurance providers such as Aetna, Anthem, Sentara, and United.
