Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our expanding team in Brentwood, Tennessee. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, supporting financial operations while contributing to the success of a growing organization. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare customer prequalification forms for review and approval.

• Examine contracts for accounting requirements and upload relevant information into the system.

• Set up job accounts accurately by adhering to established procedures.

• Compile cost phase data in Excel and upload it to the accounting system.

• Gather and load schedules of values into the system to ensure proper tracking.

• Conduct monthly reviews of job statuses to ensure timely updates such as marking jobs inactive or closed.

• Process construction billing, including loading change orders and ensuring proper documentation for approved changes.

• Monitor accounts receivable by preparing weekly overdue reports and coordinating follow-ups with customers.

• Escalate collection issues as necessary to management to ensure timely resolution.

• Oversee job closing procedures, ensuring all updates and documentation are completed accurately.

Requirements • Proven experience as a Project Accountant or similar role.

• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and practices.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to solve problems effectively.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Proficiency in AIA billing, cash collections, and construction project accounting.

• Familiarity with contract compliance and account reconciliation.

• Competence in using 10-key systems and general ledger software.
