Description
We are looking for a Senior Inventory Accountant to join our team in Addison, Texas, on a contract basis. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting individual with a strong background in full-cycle accounting and a focus on manufacturing operations. If you have expertise in inventory accounting, cost analysis, and fixed asset management, we encourage you to apply. This is a 2-month contract position with a hybrid work schedule.
Senior Inventory Accountant (contract position):
Responsibilities:
• Execute month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations within tight deadlines.
• Maintain the general ledger in alignment with company accounting policies and standards.
• Analyze production costs, monitor manufacturing overhead, and track variances between standard and actual costs.
• Oversee inventory valuation using specific identification and weighted average methods while ensuring accurate work-in-progress and finished goods tracking.
• Reconcile inventory accounts monthly and support physical inventory counts and cycle count processes.
• Manage fixed assets, including recording purchases, tracking depreciation, and reconciling fixed asset accounts.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.
• Provide timely and accurate support for internal and external audit requests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting.
• Proficiency in inventory accounting and reconciliation within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including production cost analysis and overhead tracking.
• Familiarity with inventory valuation methods such as weighted average and specific identification.
• Experience managing fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Ability to perform month-end and year-end close processes accurately and efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and account reconciliation.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
