Description
The Core Selling Partner Experience team defines, implements, and enforces quality standards for all Amazon-built experiences for all of our selling partners worldwide. We are seeking an innovative, entrepreneurial Senior Product Manager – Technical to obsess over and own creating cross selling experiences, defined as experiences that present tailored and prioritized calls to action, in the form of notifications, insights, and metrics. Cross selling experiences enable sellers to understand their business performance and help them decide what goals to achieve. You will also build agentic workflow automation as part of Amazon’s Next Gen Selling experience that enable action completion, giving sellers the consistency they want and need to enable easy business management.
The successful candidate will be exceptional at working backwards from the Selling Partner to understand the customer journey, is skilled at communicating with both technical and business leaders, is capable of managing difficult cross-functional projects/goals, effectively influences across teams, and leveraging data to inform decisions and strategy. Success in this role is defined by delivering experiences that increase Selling Partner productivity, delivering concrete business outcomes that accelerate the Amazon flywheel.
Key job responsibilities
"General Responsibilities may include:
• Working with the leadership team to set strategy, define the product, and make appropriate high-judgment trade-offs between features and speed-to-launch
• Use case prioritization, feature definition, ownership of the product roadmap, and customer segmentation
• Engaging with service owners and partner teams to identify integration opportunities and drive product initiatives
• Anticipating bottlenecks, manage risk and escalations, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
• Creation of communication mechanisms for collaboration across SVPs in the broader Consumer org.
• Effective communication with Senior and VP level partners both written and verbal
A day in the life
The primary role of a PMT within Amazon is to assume end-to-end product ownership over one of our technical product offerings. PMTs are expected to dive deep into the technology both from a product and customer perspective, working with software engineers and business partners to define, build, launch and grow new technology-driven products and services. With input from business stakeholders, they develop business and product requirements, prioritize needs, and manage milestones and overall roadmap. PMTs work closely with technical teams to understand root causes of customer pain points and drive the right solutions to exceed customer expectations. Examples of organizations where PMTs may work include (but aren’t limited to): Amazon Web Services (AWS), Prime Video, Alexa, Game Services, and Supply Chain Technologies.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to influence others
- Experience working with engineering teams to define, scope and prioritize product requirements
- Curiosity to dive deep into Amazon’s suite of technical products and commitment to learning and expanding technical knowledge
- Experience in a fast-paced dynamic sometimes ambiguous environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities
- Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing technology concepts, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA
- Strong strategic aptitude; proven ability to define the right business strategy and develop the product roadmap to deliver it, even in the face of ambiguity
- Experience working with constrained resources and an ability to think creatively on how to accomplish the job
