Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member in our AWS Central FP&A team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of our fastest growing business division within Amazon. This role will have broad oversight of AWS headcount and cost planning and will be responsible for providing actionable reports and insights to our leadership teams. This is a high-impact position that will have a front-row seat to the decisions being made by both AWS Business and Finance leadership.
Responsibilities include:
(1) Create, improve, and maintain financial and headcount metrics, reports, and scorecards used for consolidated reporting.
(2) Oversee and influence AWS headcount planning.
(3) Partner with cross functional teams to streamline reporting infrastructure and automation and improve forecast accuracy.
The ideal candidate has FP&A experience and is decisive, action-oriented, and able to motivate and lead cross-functional teams. The right candidate has experience in consolidating large data sources into usable datasets and driving improvements to ensure that reporting can be done at scale. In addition, this person must have strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate leadership strategies into actionable plans.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
