Description
The AWS Utility Computing FP&A team is looking for a seasoned Senior Finance Analyst to be part of a critical, high-growth area of the business. The person in the role will own the processes, analytics, and generate business insights for costs associated with AWS' largest customer. The role requires a self-starter who can exhibit thought leadership, develop processes, communicate with senior executives, and collaborate across teams. In addition to traditional functional Finance skills, this role requires the ability to lead cross-functional teams and exercise influence based on domain expertise. 'Learn and be Curious' is also key, and this role gives the opportunity to develop a good business understanding of the main AWS services.
Key job responsibilities
- Leading the planning cycles for a multi-billion dollar business.
- Driving reporting for opex and capex.
- Deep-diving variances vs. plan to understand changes and uncover opportunities for efficiency improvement.
- Leading cross-functional projects involving finance and tech teams.
- Setting up processes and automating reporting.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
- Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
