    Description and Responsibilities

    The Director of DEI&B will bring forward- thinking leadership, deep insights and strategic thinking while partnering successfully with leaders across the agency to achieve desired results. The role enriches our culture of inclusion by celebrating, engaging and leveraging the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of our employees.

    Other Key Responsibilities:

    + Drive and support the agency’s vision for DEI&B by supporting a culture that ensures every staff person - no matter their race/ethnicity, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, ability, religion or any other historically marginalized group - feels safe, included, and able to bring their full selves to work each day.

    + Innovate and challenge current norms to drive change in the organization and work inclusively with people of varying backgrounds and organizational levels. Ensure the inclusion of perspectives of those who are impacted as part of the decision-making process.

    + Support Human Resources in developing and maintaining equitable and inclusive recruitment, hiring, and retention practices. Participate in hiring panels and evaluation of candidates.

    + Participate in the agency’s Board Race Equity Committee.

    + Model the use of DEI&B strategies and tools to evaluate programs, policies, and practices in collaboration with internal colleagues and key community partners in order to improve service delivery.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field, required. A minimum of 5 years in Human Services with demonstrated DEIB work will be considered in lieu of degree.

    + Demonstrated commitment to social justice, racial equity, diversity, inclusion and understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias, and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities required.

    + Working knowledge of DEI philosophies, methodologies, competencies, and programs, required.

    + Experience with workplace mediation, restorative justice and working with individuals and teams during times of conflict, required.

    + Demonstrated experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, required.

    + Valid Drivers License and acceptable driving history, required.
