JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the activities and work efforts of employees assigned to a specific shift or operation. Supervisors may be expected to routinely function as staff. Is actively engaged and models the skills and behaviors of the 9 Studer Principles leading to an outcome of organizational excellence. Supervises activities consistent with department goals. Typically reports to a Director or Manager. Is an active advocate of Blessing Health System in the community. This position is responsible for performing a variety of respiratory care procedures and functions as prescribed by a physician. This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including neonate through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Process (PIP) at Blessing Hospital.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:
+ Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program Excellent written and verbal communication skills Current RRT.
+ Minimum of 1 year experience as Respiratory Therapist.
PREFERRED:
+ A minimum of 3 years of experience as Respiratory Therapist.
License/Certifications/Special Requirements:
+ Effective January 1, 2006: POSSESSES CURRENT ILLINOIS RESPIRATORY THERAPY LICENSE OR LETTER OF AUTHORITY FROM ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF PROFESSIONAL REGULATION. NOTE: LICENSE EXAMINATION WILL BE TAKEN WITHIN 60 DAYS OF GRADUATION AND DIRECTOR MUST RECEIVE LICENSE WITHIN 90 DAYS OF GRADUATION.
