    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    The Tutoring Coordinator supports the daily operations of the peer tutoring program. This role focuses on the training of new tutors, managing tutor schedules and appointments, and responding to student inquiries. This position will work collaboratively with Camner Center staff, tutors, faculty, and other university departments to support student success and retention. This position reports to the Associate Director of Tutoring and works with the Senior Tutoring Coordinator.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Tutoring Operations and Support

    + Serve as a point of contact for tutoring policies and procedures.

    + Manage tutor schedules, appointments, and administrative tasks in Navigate.

    + Respond to phone and email inquiries.

    + Monitor and resolve technical issues in Navigate, UMIT, EAB, and Blackboard.

    + Participate in Learning Commons meetings and provide tutoring data.

    + Conduct meetings with students who exceed no-show limits.

    + Review tutoring policies and determine reinstatement eligibility.

    2. Lead Tutor and Front Desk Support

    + Supervise 5–7 lead tutors and participate in weekly meetings.

    + Provide HR-related support including feedback and disciplinary actions.

    + Train front desk student employees on kiosk setup, appointment coordination, and troubleshooting.

    + Establish and enforce no-show protocols.

    3. Tutor Training and CRLA Certification

    + Participate in tutor training and update CRLA materials each semester.

    + Track training hours and coordinate small-group sessions.

    + Match lead tutor schedules with training hours and create training materials.

    + Track data related to appointments, training, and payroll.

    4. Tutor Hiring and Onboarding

    + Review applications, conduct interviews, and select tutors.

    + Prepare onboarding materials and assist with payroll processing.

    + Support in-person onboarding and update virtual orientation.

    + Track new hires from interview to first appointments and provide early support.

    5. Final Review Sessions and Events

    + Organize and support final exam review sessions and mid-semester events.

    + Coordinate tutor availability and distribute promotional materials.

    + Participate in tabling events and develop review materials.

    + Provide feedback on tutor performance and organize end-of-year events.

    6. Marketing and Promotion

    + Develop flyers, social media posts, and promotional materials.

    + Collaborate with lead tutors to advertise services across campus.

    + Present at student orientation and tabling events.

    7. Administrative and Program Support

    + Assist with the Summer Math program and other academic support programs sponsored by the Camner Center.

    + Support implementation and training for tutoring software.

    + Attend Learning Commons meetings and collaborate with faculty and advisors.

    + Track enrollment, retention, and tutoring statistics.

    + Plan and organize the student appreciation ceremony.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    + Bachelor’s degree or AA in Education, Communications, or related field preferred.

    WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    + Office environment with high student interaction.

    + High computer usage and familiarity with web-based software

    + Extended hours and weekends may be required during peak periods.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (KSA):

    + Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn Blackboard, EAB Navigate and other related software.

    + Communicate effectively in oral and written form.

    + Ability to take initiative and work independently at times.

    + Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

    + Strong customer service skills.
