A Snapshot of Your Day
Provides technical support to the Process Owner Team in various disciplines throughout the facility. The technician will provide engineering solutions for investment castings that meet the highest quality standards at the lowest possible cost.
How You’ll Make an Impact
+ Apply process knowledge, engineering principles, experience, and creativity to improve processes for quality castings meeting customer specs and timetables.
+ Apply NX Cad for crafting various fixtures and tools as needed by the engineering team.
+ Demonstrate proficiency with basic hand tools and test equipment used for engineering projects. This includes calipers, blue light, borescope, data loggers, scales, and other equipment.
+ Audit the processes that are Critical to Quality for the Core, Wax, Shell, Casting, Rough, and Finishing departments. Trend the results for the Process Owner and Supervisor in each area.
+ Support the training and testing of Manufacturing Associates to the Demonstrated Skills Checklist throughout the facility necessary. Identify areas of nonconformance and implement corrective action plans.
+ Participate in plant initiatives to support the reduction of scrap, rework, and overall casting cost. Initiatives include but not limited to daily scrap reviews, development of SPC for significant process steps and participation in cost improvement teams. Perform experiments to improve the quality of the process and summarize results in a graphical format.
What You Bring
+ High School Diploma or GED evidence is required and currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering program at the University level. Concentration must be in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical engineering.
+ Ability to read, speak, and understand English, calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and others.
+ Ability to read Engineering instructions and attention to detail.
+ Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
