Senior Appium Automation Test Engineer (Hybrid Role)

Required Qualifications:

+ Overall 6 to 10 years of IT experience focused on QA software testing with strong hands-on experience with automation testing mobile applications.

+ Must have strong hands-on experience in Appium testing.

+ Must have 3+ years of hands-on experience in mobile automation for Android applications.

+ Experience in working with Simulators, Emulators and Real devices.

+ Able to understand software architecture, debug code, automate repetitive tasks, and implement new tools and frameworks needed to streamline our quality process.

+ Jetpack Compose (Highest Priority) , Kotlin and Coroutines.

+ Good understanding of Android Architecture Components (ViewModel, Room, LiveData/StateFlow, Navigation).

+ MVVM and Design Patterns (Clean Architecture, SOLID Principles, Repository Pattern).

+ Advanced Debugging and Profiling (Android Studio Profiler, ANRs).

+ Knowledge of mobile browser automation.

+ Knowledge of mobile testing using mobile devices.

+ Advanced Networking with Rest and GraphQL (Retrofit, OkHttp).

Roles and Responsibilities:

+ An Android SDET role that combines software development and mobile testing expertise using Maestro framework or Appium, playing a crucial role in delivering robust, reliable, and high-quality Android applications.

+ Creating, enhancing, and maintaining test automation frameworks to ensure efficient and comprehensive testing of Android applications.

+ Designing, developing, and maintaining Android applications, working with Java, Kotlin, and other relevant technologies.

+ Conducting various types of testing, including unit testing, integration testing, API testing, performance testing, and security testing.

+ Position will be an individual contributor who is responsible for the preparation of test data, test planning and execution, reporting on testing status and reporting test results for to all partners for assigned projects.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Dev, QA, Product) in Agile/CI-CD environments.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between [$53,477 – $92,500] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
