Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Administrative Support Specialist performs a variety of clerical, secretarial, and administrative tasks to support office operations. Responsibilities may include general office support or specialized functions related to licensing, personnel, purchasing, or financial processing. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently using standard office equipment and software.
Key Responsibilities
+ Completes a variety of administrative support duties related to areas such as licensure, personnel, purchasing, records management, and inventory control.
+ Provides general clerical support, including data entry, filing, mail sorting, ordering supplies, and document distribution.
+ Assists with specific functional processes such as reviewing applications, processing transactions, scheduling training or facility maintenance, reconciling financial records, and collecting program fees.
+ Maintains record-keeping systems and ensures accurate data maintenance.
+ Provides secretarial support to upper-level management, including scheduling, drafting correspondence, and handling confidential information.
+ Exercises independent judgment and initiative to support one or more staff members or departments effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED AND
+ Two (2) years of general office or administrative experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ Two (2) or more years of experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
+ Experience using JTS (Juvenile Tracking System) is a plus
+ One (1) or more years of experience supporting accounting and/or personnel operations
