JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
HOSPITALITY WORKER
Department of Family and Support Services
Number of Positions: Multiple
(additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)
Hourly Rate:** **$16.60

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
+ Registers new participants for the nutrition program at a City of Chicago sponsored nutrition program site
+ Maintains daily attendance records and collects, counts, and reconciles clients’ contributions
+ Completes weekly programmatic and financial forms to maintain statistics on the number of meals ordered and served and the number of clients served
+ Receives and verifies food deliveries and reports food service problems
+ Maintains sufficient inventories of nutrition site supplies
+ Prepares, pre-portions and serves meals delivered in bulk, pre-plated and or pre-packaged servings
+ Performs light housekeeping in dining area and kitchen (e.g., clearing and sanitizing tables, washing and sanitizing food pans and serving utensils, etc.)
+ Collects and reconciles voluntary contributions received from participants
+ Greets clients at the site and assists in providing information and facilitating program activities and services
+ Sets up and cleans up serving area to ensure adherence to applicable food sanitation standards and quality control efforts

THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE
Qualifications:
Food Handler or Food Service Manager certificate.
**Note:** At the time of application, you must attach a copy of your food service sanitation certification and resume for your application to be considered complete. Failure to attach a food handler or food service manager certificate will result in you not being considered for the position.
Selection Criteria
This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, will be selected.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
+ Previous experience in the food service industry
+ Previous experience in the Golden Diners program
+ Previous experience in a position handling money and completing forms and reports
+ Previous experience in a position providing customer service and working with the senior population
+ Attached copy of a Food Handler or Food Service Manager Certificate to application
