*University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Francis King Carey School of Law is seeking a Specialist, Dean’s Office & Academic Administration (Assistant to Executive).*Reporting directly to the Vice Dean, this position provides day-to-day administrative support for the Vice Dean, Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development, and the Associate Dean for Graduate Legal Studies. *BENEFITS (Exempt Regular):* UMB offers acomprehensive benefits packagethat prioritizes wellness, work/life balance, and professional development, along withadditional exciting perksthat employees can take advantage of. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.* *Primary Duties* * Provide day-to-day administrative support for the Vice Dean, Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development, and Associate Dean for Graduate Legal Studies * Assist in the preparation and maintenance of faculty handbooks and materials, including updating policies and procedures. Administratively support the promotions committee and the post-tenure review process * Support the associate deans’ initiatives including scholarly events, faculty workshops, and presentations to various stakeholders. Use discretion to develop logistics, scheduling, and agenda items. Arrange guest / visitor travel and hotel arrangements * Support the Faculty Council, including working with the Vice Dean to prepare the agenda, minutes, and materials for Faculty Council meetings * Track data to improve processes and gather information for academic and scholarly reports, including faculty end-of-year reports, award nominations, and curricular and academic data needed for various reporting to central campus and other entities * Maintain accurate records and files in accordance with records retention policies * Assist the deans with tracking various faculty metrics, such as faculty travel and research assistant hours * Support the academic deans with administrative aspects of curriculum development for the J.D., LLM, and MSL programs * Communicate with faculty, students, and external stakeholders to provide information about policies and resources as needed * Assist the associate deans with administrative processes including procurement card purchases, as well as processing travel arrangements and submitting expense reports and reimbursements * Handle confidential and non-routine information and explain policies when necessary * Serve as back up support to the dean. * Other duties as assigned. *Minimum Qualifications* * *Education:*Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, marketing, accounting, human resources, or other related field. * *Experience:*Three (3) years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting. * *Other:*Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience.
