    About this Job

     

    LSU Health New Orleans Division of Facility Services is seeking highly skilled and motivated applicants for the position of Plumber/Pipefitter Foreman.

     

    Four years of experience or training in pipefitting, steam fitting, or plumbing. Two years of the required experience for the minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience.

     

    Starting rate of pay for this position is $24.10 per hour, may be adjusted dependent upon applicants’ qualifications. There is also an additional $1 Longevity Pay for hours worked only.

     

    Must possess a current Driver’s License.

    Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    + supervises/trains plumber/pipefitter masters, plumber/pipefitters, maintenance repairers and trades apprentices

    + installs, maintains, alters, repairs and replaces sinks and faucets, showers, toilets, urinals, drinking fountains, valves and other plumbing fixtures as required

    + installs and repairs galvanized, schedule 40/80PVC, schedule 40/80 black iron, stainless steel, ABS, Orion, and copper pipe for potable

    + a) payroll time sheets; b) leave requests; c) discipline; d) counseling for both outstanding and poor job performance; e) performance reviews; f) motivation; g) training; h) communication verbally and in writing upward and downward; i) hiring; j) terminations; k) conducts weekly safety meetings; I) investigates and reports accidental injuries

    + inspect and exercise campus domestic water shut off valves and maintain accurate as built information regarding valve location and service location

    + reports all unsafe situations immediately to supervisor or higher authority as needed to correct the condition as quickly as possible

    + a) assists other trades as needed; b) special events work; c) campus maintenance emergencies; d) new utilities and equipment installations; e) work orders; f) plan, price, and order materials necessary for repairs using proper facility purchasing rules/regulations

    + This is a Civil Service Position. This position does not require applicants to take a Civil Service test.
