This announcement is to fill three IT Technical specialist positions, with one in New Orleans, one in Baton Rouge, and one in Shreveport.
The IT Technical specialist is responsible for managing servers, printers and computers systems for the Disability Determinations office, and will serve as the Security Officer a lead staff member in each of the Disability Determinations offices in the State of Louisiana.
Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in information technology; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in information technology; OR
An associate's degree in information technology plus four years of experience in information technology; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience in information technology; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field plus three years of experience in information technology; OR
A master’s degree plus three years of experience in information technology.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties
As an IT Technical Specialist, you may commonly perform the duties described below:
+ Work in coordination with Human Resources and DDS Management to ensure new employees have the equipment and clearances required to onboard as quickly as possible.
+ Create new users and set them up with correct security for Mainframe, LAN, DCPS and HSPD.
+ Provide software assistance for Laptop, Legacy and any applications used by users
+ Image laptops before deployment to user
+ Setup and configure laptops and printers.
Position Specific Details
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional or Job Appointment
Work Schedule: General work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Other work schedules are available with management approval.
Compensation: The IT Technical Specialist 1 is located in the Disability Determinations Services, within the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS)
