    Job Title: CNC Lathe Programmer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Programmer to join our machining department as we expand and invest in new technology. The ideal candidate will take over programming responsibilities from the Plant Manager, with a focus on both programming and machining tasks. You will be instrumental in programming Mastercam from scratch and actively machining on the floor, ensuring precision and quality in aircraft part production.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up and operate CNC lathe equipment with minimal supervision.

    + Machining of aircraft parts, maintaining tolerances as tight as .0005”.

    + Perform critical measurements using supplied gauging.

    + Maintain proper paperwork associated with planned jobs.

    + Translate prints and understand GD&T on blueprints.

    + Demonstrate shop math skills.

    + Proficiency in the use of a wide variety of precision measuring tools.

    + Exposure to Haas or Okuma lathes.

    + Experience with Mastercam programming from scratch.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years as a CNC Lathe Programmer.

    + Ability to perform setups, tool changes, and offsets.

    + Experience with prototype, short-run production.

    + Programming Mastercam from scratch (3+ years) - 2D & 3D.

    + Experience with small components and metals, primarily stainless steel.

    + Ability to hold tight tolerances using blueprints and GD&T.

    + Proficiency with basic toolboxes and measuring tools, including indicators.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Okuma Lathe machine experience.

    + Experience in both Mill & Lathe programming.

    + Experience with 4 Axis / 3+2 Axis.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wixom, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
