Job Title: Die Cutter Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated individual to assist machine operators in the sanding department, where large rolls of sandpaper are transformed into smaller, round pieces for grinders and other sanding tools. This role involves operating a machine to punch sandpaper and supporting various production tasks.

Responsibilities

+ Assist machine operators in the sanding department.

+ Operate the die cutter machine to punch sandpaper.

+ Support fast-paced production activities, including packaging, labeling, palletizing, and making boxes.

+ Work with an HMI and CNC machine, handling materials up to 35 lbs.

+ Learn to pull orders, use inventory systems, and stage products.

+ Monitor machinery and product with the operator, calculating measurements such as weights and counts.

+ Shrink wrap final product and prepare it for shipping.

+ Work in the belt department, assisting with material handling, packaging, and labeling.

+ Utilize computers for inventory and documentation tasks.

+ Maintain attention to detail and perform repetitive lifting.

Essential Skills

+ Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Experience with machine operation, specifically running a die cutter.

+ Strong material handling and packaging skills.

+ Ability to work on a production schedule and collaborate with team members.

+ Reliable attendance record.

+ Attention to detail and ability to manage repetitive tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with inventory systems and scanners.

+ Ability to work with belting equipment.

+ Cross-training potential for long-term employment.

Work Environment

The plant is not climate-controlled, but large fans help regulate temperature. Expect cooler conditions in winter with open dock doors. The typical shift is 6 am-3 pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for earlier start times or overtime if needed. Saturday work is rare. The work environment promotes collaboration and provides opportunities for cross-training and growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PETERSBURG, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
