Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to service the Tri-Cities region. The role involves digging trenches for pipe laying, foundations, or other underground utility installations, assisting in the installation of water and sewer lines, and performing repairs on existing underground systems. The candidate will follow safety procedures and protocols for excavating near underground utilities, including using locating devices and proper trenching and shoring techniques. We are looking for candidates specializing in Water & Sewer, Infrastructure, Storm Water Management, Grading, Underground Utilities, and Land Management & Conservation.

Responsibilities

+ Dig trenches for pipe laying, foundations, or other underground utility installations.

+ Assist in the installation of water and sewer lines, and perform repairs on existing underground systems.

+ Follow safety procedures and protocols for excavating near underground utilities.

+ Use locating devices and proper trenching and shoring techniques.

+ Specialize in Water & Sewer, Infrastructure, Storm Water Management, Grading, Underground Utilities, and Land Management & Conservation.

Essential Skills

+ Proven experience with Excavators and heavy equipment operation.

+ Proficiency in using Dozers, Backhoes, Front End Loaders, and Track Hoes.

+ Ability to perform trenching and shoring.

+ Experience with earthworks, grading, and utility construction.

+ Competence in underground utility work and civil engineering tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ GPS experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnson City, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
