    Resp & Qualifications

    PURPOSE:

    Performs complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of Java-based software systems. Responsibilities include architecture integration, software design, and selection of tools and frameworks. Designs, develops, tests, and documents critical and complex application programs. Collaborates with stakeholders to define system scope and objectives, establish baselines, and implement project standards and processes. Breaks down software requirements and builds highly complex, scalable systems.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    + Perform technical design, coding, and testing of Java applications. Act as a subject matter expert in Java development. Ensure compliance with DevOps and CI/CD standards. Deliver scalable systems for enterprise use.

    + Conduct software analysis including requirements gathering and use case development. Implement and document source code aligned with design specifications. Develop and execute automated unit and integration tests. Analyze and report test results.

    + Build and maintain Java-based solutions for enterprise environments. Address both functional and non-functional requirements. Support operations and maintenance of existing systems. Identify and implement improvements.

    + Provide technical support for critical issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable software. Evaluate and integrate new technologies. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to roadmap and architecture discussions.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

    Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    **Education Level:** Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

    **Experience:** 5 years' experience with software development, basic coding and compilation, software architecture/design, user requirements definition and software specification development. 3 years' experience in Healthcare and/or Payer Industries.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

    + Advanced knowledge of Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).

    + Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

    + Proficient in integrating complex systems and working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

    + Experience with database technologies (SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

    + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.

    + Knowledge of test-first practices including TDD and BDD.

    + Experience with performance testing and code quality tools.

    + Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.

    **Salary Range:** $96,552 - $191,763
