PURPOSE:
Performs complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of software systems with a focus on Java-based back-end services and modern UI frameworks. Responsibilities include designing and implementing test automation for both API and UI layers, ensuring high-quality software delivery. Collaborates with stakeholders to define scope, establish baselines, and implement project standards. Breaks down software requirements and builds robust, scalable test systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Design and develop automated test cases for Java APIs and UI components using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. Serve as a subject matter expert in test automation and quality assurance. Ensure compliance with DevOps and CI/CD standards. Deliver scalable test solutions for enterprise applications.
+ Analyze software requirements and use cases. Implement and document test scripts aligned with design specifications. Develop and execute automated unit, integration, and UI tests.
+ Compile and report test results to ensure functional and visual correctness.
+ Build and maintain test frameworks for full-stack applications. Address both functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, accessibility). Support operations and maintenance of test infrastructure. Identify and implement improvements in test coverage and reliability.
+ Provide technical support for critical issues. Collaborate with developers, designers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment. Evaluate and integrate new testing tools and frameworks. Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to roadmap and architecture discussions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education Level:** Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
**Experience:** 5 years' experience with software development, basic coding and compilation, software architecture/design, user requirements definition and software specification development. 3 years' experience in Healthcare and/or Payer Industries.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
+ Advanced knowledge of Java and UI testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
+ Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
+ Proficient in integrating and testing complex systems across front-end and back-end layers.
+ Familiarity with modern UI frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
+ Experience with REST API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
+ Knowledge of accessibility and cross-browser testing.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
+ Ability to work in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
+ Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
**Salary Range:** $96,552 - $191,763
