Senior Director, Finance-Revenue Recognition and Reporting -Corporate 42nd Street- Full-Time
The Senior Director of Revenue Recognition and Reporting for the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) (which includes the MSHS and the Faculty Practice Plan) is responsible for evolving the revenue recognition and reporting function to meet the demands of a more dynamic environment. The Senior Director will report to the Vice President Revenue Analysis and Integrity of the MSHS.
This role will lead the effort to strengthen revenue recognition processes and to build scalable infrastructure that supports accurate revenue reporting and enables sustainable growth within the revenue cycle in collaboration with the Vice President of Revenue Integrity and Analysis. This position will oversee and ensure the accuracy of revenue reporting and related financial activities. This role will lead a team to develop and implement revenue recognition policies and processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards and to enhance the revenue cycle function.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business-related field; Masters preferred
+ 10 years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting that includes experiences in budgeting, financial forecasting, financial modeling, planning, organizing and managing multiple financial activities.
Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $169,095.00 - $253,643.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Responsibilities
+ Oversee the end-to-end revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g. GAAP) and industry regulations.
+ Oversee financial reporting and disclosures related to revenue, including preparing and reviewing reports for various stakeholders.
+ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue reporting.
+ Monitor and provide regular reporting to senior management on key performance indicators (e.g. actual versus expected results for financial targets).
+ Analyze revenue trends, forecasts, and other financial metrics to provide actionable insights for business decisions.
+ Develop long-range revenue plan utilizing trend reports, revenue projections, and look back of year over year and month over month performance.
+ Collaborate with business owners and finance to develop projected business plan revenue and develop a look back process to measure results against plan.
+ Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies related to revenue.
+ Build effective, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across departments.
+ Lead, develop, and manage a team of revenue accounting professionals, providing guidance and support.
+ Resourceful in creating or fine-tuning the processes necessary to complete the work along with the ability to organize people and activities.
+ Challenge existing norms or courses of action to facilitate fully informed decision-making. Help institute balanced decision-making by identifying risks and opportunities.
+ Provide analysis of key performance indicators and success metrics and develop actionable insights for leadership.
+ Establish and maintain strong working relationships with revenue cycle leaders, key stakeholders, and foster a strong working relationship with key strategic partners.
+ Investigate and resolve revenue shortfalls and coordinate efforts to assist senior revenue cycle leaders with development of innovative strategies and solutions.
+ Provide leadership and support governance processes to result in effective, efficient, standardized, and compliant practices.
+ Collaborate with finance on month-end revenue performance and identify trends and opportunities for financial optimization.
+ Maintain strong understanding of revenue performance metrics and payer mix.
+ Ensure compliance with all HIPAA privacy and security standards.
+ Conform to the established policies/ procedures/ processes/ Standards of Behavior.
+ Performs other duties as required by the Vice President Revenue Integrity and Analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
+ Ability to perform duties and responsibilities promptly and consistently with little direct supervision in planning and organizing his/her work.

**MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED** :
+ Demonstrated success in a finance department in a large not-for-profit/academic health system facility or corporate environment.
+ Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, and proficiency in financial auditing. Previous experience as an auditor is highly desirable.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with senior management and other leaders, along with the ability to communicate financial concepts to others without a finance background.
+ Financial management skills, including the ability to analyze financial data for operations, budgeting, auditing, forecasting, accounting, AR and reserve analysis, staffing, and financial reporting.
+ Strong leadership skills to motivate cross-departmental teams’ performance towards excellence using team concepts and consensus-building management styles.
+ Demonstrated ability to engage in positive, powerful persuasion with individuals or groups with diverse opinions and/ or agendas, leading to outcomes that meet identified goals.
+ Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems necessary to develop and administer multifaceted revenue processes, regardless of whether issues originate in an area under direct or indirect control.
+ Ability to enlist cooperation and build teams committed to carrying out initiatives in environments that may be resistant to change and not under the incumbent’s direct authority.
+ The ability to maintain a high level of positive energy/ creativity during periods of elevated work demands.
+ Ability to prioritize multiple objectives in a rapidly changing environment and deliver quality outcomes.
+ Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships at all levels throughout the organization.
