Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Use CAD/CAM software, responsible for creating new as well as reviewing old programs for validity and efficiency to maintain the most efficient, shortest possible cycle times.
+ Must be confident in diagnosing tooling and programming problems and developing creative solutions.
+ Expected to work closely with machinists and tooling specialists to troubleshoot tooling and programming issues.
+ Consult with engineers and other personnel regarding product information such as design, capacity and propose, and types of material to be used to fabricate product to determine feasibility of product proposal.
+ Analyze written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations.
+ Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes or modification for efficiency and adaptability to set up production.
+ When not programming, perform work similar to CNC Machinists.
+ Maintain high regard for quality of workmanship and compliance with customer requirements.
+ Maintain cooperative attitude and willingness to learn.
Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
+ Ability to troubleshoot programming and production problems.
+ Knowledge of basic set-up, machine feed, and speed.
+ Knowledge of shop tools and equipment.
+ CNC experience with one or more of the following: Vertical Machining Centers, lathes, Swiss Lathes, and/or EDM equipment.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, solid models, written instructions, and processing.
+ Basic understanding of manufacturing safety regulations and a willingness to follow correct safety procedures at all times.
+ Above average structured problem-solving techniques and documentation skills.
+ Advanced mathematical ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
+ Strong customer service orientation.
+ Minimum of high school diploma or GED.
+ Lift 50lbs.
+ Work with limited supervision.
+ Assist with any other duties as required.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and /or boards of directors.
Computer Skills
Possess knowledge of Word Processing software; spreadsheet software, CAD and CAM programming software such as Solidworks, MasterCam or other manufacturer software.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Develops alternative solutions; works will in group problem solving situations.
