We aim to attract, develop and retain the best people as part of our Dodger family.Job SummaryThe Coordinator of the Fort Dodge Options Program is a vital leadership role responsible for overseeing and implementing a comprehensive program designed to support the diverse needs of students within our secondary schools. This includes providing pathways for students seeking online educational opportunities, facilitating credit recovery initiatives, and offering targeted support for students at risk of dropping out. Additionally, the Coordinator will lead a dedicated program for 17-21-year-olds focused on HiSET exam preparation to achieve a Competency-Based Diploma. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and organized individual with a passion for student success, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing alternative educational opportunities.Essential Duties
+ Design, implement, and manage the Fort Dodge Options Program's overall structure and operations, ensuring alignment with district goals and state educational standards.
+ Develop and maintain program policies, procedures, and guidelines for all academy components (online learning, credit recovery, dropout prevention, HiSET preparation).
+ Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, and teachers to identify students who would benefit from Fort Dodge Options Program services.
+ Monitor student progress, attendance, and engagement within the academy, implementing interventions as needed.
+ Collect and analyze program data to assess effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and report on outcomes.
+ Provide individualized guidance and support to students pursuing online learning options, including assistance with course selection, technology access, and time management.
+ Develop and implement strategies for credit recovery, working closely with students, parents, and school staff to create personalized learning plans.
+ Identify and support students at risk of dropping out, connecting them with appropriate resources and interventions to encourage continued engagement in education.
+ Lead the HiSET preparation program for 17-21-year-olds, including:
+ Conducting initial assessments to determine student readiness for the HiSET exam.
+ Developing and delivering comprehensive instructional content and resources for all HiSET subject areas (Language Arts Reading, Language Arts Writing, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies).
+ Providing individualized and small-group tutoring and support.
+ Facilitating practice tests and strategies for test-taking success.
+ Serve as a primary point of contact for students and families involved in the Fort Dodge Options Program.
+ Advocate for student needs and ensure equitable access to educational opportunities.
+ Establish and maintain strong working relationships with school administrators, counselors, teachers, and other support staff.
+ Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, attendance, and program updates.
+ Collaborate with community organizations and external partners to enhance program offerings and student opportunities.
+ Prepare and present reports on data and program activities and outcomes to the district administration and stakeholders.
+ Comprehensive understanding of secondary education curriculum and graduation requirements.
+ Familiarity with various online learning platforms and instructional technologies.
+ Strong organizational and project management skills.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
+ Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Education required, Master’s Degree preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in education is required.Experience with online learning platforms, credit recovery programs, and/or alternative education models is highly desirable.Physical Demands and Working Conditions
