    Job Description

    The Iowa Department of Revenue’s Alcohol & Tax Operations Division is currently seeking a Storekeeper 3 at our Ankeny office. The Operations Division functions as the central hub for both alcohol and tax-related processes and procedures. This division is responsible for administering the transportation and distribution of wholesale alcoholic liquor to more than 2,000 privately-owned retailers across Iowa, ensuring they are delivered on time and in good condition. Additionally, this division manages tax documents, payments and mail, as well as offering invaluable assistance to taxpayers for filing requirements and procedures.

    In this position you will be responsible for:

    + Manage a wide variety of projects by serving as the customer services representative for the Bureau of Alcohol Operations. This would include coordinating meetings between work units within the Department, ensuring clear communication between work units is maintained to support excellent customer service, and reporting all issues to the supervisor.

    + Serve as a liaison between business units, technology, and support teams. Evaluate existing and new organizational functions and programs for efficiency. Meet with subject matter experts throughout the state and department to gather requirements, explore alternative methods to conduct business more effectively, and develop and execute training plans to ensure end-user understanding.

    + Manage logistics operations, including the receipt, storage, and issuance of equipment, materials, and supplies. Also, managing inventory, and ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse with respect to inbound/outbound operations. Other responsibilities include receiving and inspecting shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and distributing items based on requisitions or orders.

    Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the following:

    + Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software including Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Blue Yonder (JDA).

    + Experience managing projects to improve processes and procedures.

    + Experience analyzing and interpreting data, making comparative analysis and identifying trends.

    + Inventory management - Receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment, as well as conducting physical inventory counts.

    + Receipt and Inspection - Verifying incoming shipments for accuracy and condition, processing receiving documents, and tagging or labeling items.

    + Issuance and Distribution - Fulfilling store requisitions, routing items to designated locations, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

    + Record Keeping - Maintaining accurate logs, forms, and reports related to daily operations, inventory, and transactions.

    + Procurement Support - Assisting with procurement processes, preparing purchase requisitions, and expediting orders with vendors.

    + Quality Control - Inspecting incoming parts, following quality management procedures, and documenting results.

    + Other duties as assigned - This may include tasks related to billing, accounting, or special projects.

    Required knowledge and skills:

    + Advanced knowledge of warehousing and inventory control practices.

    + Familiarity with relevant federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to perform basic math calculations.

    + Proficiency in using computers and other standard office equipment.

    + Ability to lead and train others.

    + Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods.

    Minimum Qualification Requirements

    Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

    + Three years of full-time work experience in clerical, inventory, stores, supply, or warehousing work.

    + Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes twelve months of full-time work as a Storekeeper 2.

    Additional Qualification Requirements

     

    Designated positions in this class require possession of a valid Commercial Learner's Permit upon hire. Within a timeframe determined by the appointing authority, a valid Commercial Driver's License with the required endorsements and applicable restrictions must be obtained and subsequently maintained to continue employment.
