Phlebotomist -- South Kingstown, RI

+ Monday-Friday 7am-4pm

+ Every Other Weekend Shift

+ $26-$28 per hour

+ 1.5+ years experience required

+ 13 Week contract Role (Extensions Offered)

Job Summary:

The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients for laboratory testing, transfusions, donations, or research. This role involves interacting with patients of all ages, ensuring proper identification, and maintaining specimen integrity while following safety and infection control protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on pediatric and adult patients.

+ Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of specimens.

+ Prepare specimens for transport and maintain accurate documentation.

+ Provide clear instructions to patients regarding procedures and pre-test requirements.

+ Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies.

+ Follow universal precautions and infection control procedures.

+ Support clerical tasks such as patient registration, data entry, and test ordering.
