CTG is seeking to fill a Data Flow & Architecture Documentation Analyst opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ.
**Location:** Phoenix, AZ
**Duration:** Ongoing Contract
Duties:
+ Translate conceptual data architecture and technical discussions into formal documentation, including system architecture views, data flow diagrams, and process maps
+ Develop detailed solution design artifacts such as source-to-target (S2T) mappings, data gap logs, and transformation traceability documents
+ Create interactive and static visual documentation of data flows using tools and front-end technologies
+ Document data controls, transformation rules, validation checkpoints, and governance standards to support audit-readiness and compliance
+ Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including data architects, product leads, engineers, and business analysts to iteratively build out and refine documentation
+ Analyze metadata, table structures, and enterprise data systems to map and explain data sourcing and transformations
+ Ensure all documentation aligns with internal governance frameworks and supports traceability and transparency across the data lifecycle
+ Maintain version-controlled, well-organized repositories of all data and architectural documentation
Skills:
+ **Data Sourcing Architecture Translation & Documentation:** Ability to convert conceptual discussions into clear, formal documentation; independently build system architecture views
+ **Data Flow & Solution Design Artifacts:** Skilled in creating end-to-end flow diagrams, S2T mapping, gap analysis logs, and traceability docs
+ **Controls & Governance Documentation:** Document validation rules, governance checkpoints, transformation logic, and data control artifacts
+ **Tool & Technical Skills:**
+ Diagramming tools (e.g., Gliffy, MS Visio, PowerPoint)
+ SQL and familiarity with enterprise data platforms (e.g., BigQuery, Cornerstone, EDW)
+ Front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, D3.js) for interactive diagrams
+ Metadata analysis and data structure interpretation
+ **Collaboration & Self-Driven Execution:** Strong communication skills; proactive, independent execution; ability to iterate with minimal supervision
+ **Regulatory Reporting Experience (Nice to Have):** Exposure to environments like Y-9C, 2052a, Basel; familiarity with associated documentation types
Experience:
+ 6+ years in data sourcing, data architecture, business analysis, or solution design
+ Experience in financial services or other data-intensive industries strongly preferred
Education:
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field
+ Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
