    Warehouse Maintenance Tech II Nights Full-Time Monday-Wednesday 7:00 PM- 7:00 AM $26.00 per hour plus $1.00 Shift Differential

     

    Are you a skilled Maintenance Technician with a passion for keeping things running smoothly and a knack for tackling complex challenges? Staples Distribution Center is looking for a dedicated and technically proficient Maintenance Technician II to join our night shift team. In this critical role, you'll ensure the optimal performance of our advanced conveyor systems and material handling equipment, playing a vital part in our operational success.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Maintain & Troubleshoot: Be the expert for all conveyor systems (electrical and mechanical) and a variety of Crown, Raymond, and Hyster Material Handling Equipment.

    + Preventive Maintenance: Achieve 100% compliance on all Preventive Maintenance Programs each month to minimize downtime.

    + Electrical Systems: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution, branch circuits, lighting, transformers, and various wiring methods.

    + Controls & Automation: Work with relay logic, ladder diagrams, and control components like photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, and encoders.

    + Specialized Equipment: Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on Raymond Industrial lift equipment (turret, order picker, reach, stand-up, SDCB, walkie/rider trucks) and all conveyor equipment (sorter, accumulation lanes, belts).

    + System Knowledge: Utilize your knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, compressed air systems, and Allen-Bradley control systems.

    + Technical Proficiency: Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints, and confidently use electrical diagnostic equipment (digital and analog meters).

    + Documentation: Complete all work orders thoroughly, concisely, and with precise technical detail.

    + Facility & Project Work: Handle general facility maintenance and perform various project work as needed.

    + Collaboration & Mentorship: Share your knowledge, work efficiently with fellow technicians, and build strong relationships across the organization. Provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance.

    + Safety First: Maintain an unwavering commitment to safety in all tasks.

    Essential Skills and Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent.

    + 3-5 years of strong electrical troubleshooting experience on Raymond, Yale, and Crown forklifts.

    + 2 years of prior experience as a general maintenance technician or equivalent.

    + Demonstrated mechanical experience and knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatics.

    + Proficiency in:

    + Automated conveyor systems and controls

    + Electrical and electronic principles

    + Blueprint and electrical schematic reading

    + Industrial electrical, industrial electronics, and industrial controls

    + PLC Programs

    + Industrial PC literacy

    + Knowledge of N.E.C.

    + Ability to learn and operate our in-house computer Maintenance system Ruscomp.

    + Must pass mechanical and electrical testing.

    + Must Pass a background check and drug screen

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Trade school background or a degree from a vocational school/college with a focus on Mechanical and/or Electrical fields.

    + 2 years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Electrical fields related to repairing/maintaining Conveyor Systems and MHE.

    + Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize projects effectively.

    + Strong independent work ethic.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills with peers, management, contractors, and vendors.

    + Highly self-motivated and customer-centric approach.

    + Demonstrated leadership experience or aptitude.

    Important Details:

    + Regular Attendance

    + Schedule: Ability to work Monday – Friday (or Saturday, varies by location). Some weekends and holidays will be required based on business needs; flexible schedules may be available. Full-time associates must be able to work additional hours beyond their scheduled shift, including overtime, as business needs dictate.

    + Physical Demands: This role requires significant physical activity, including frequent standing (up to 5 hours continuously, over 10.5 hours total), intermittent walking (up to 4 hours continuously, over 10.5 hours total) on metal grating and concrete, and ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. You must be able to climb stairs (up to 37 steps, 7-inch height) and step ladders (up to 8 steps, 12-inch height), work at heights up to 60 feet, perform repetitive motions (grasping, pinching), and engage in regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching. Full manual dexterity on both hands and wrists is required. You'll need to walk an average of 5 miles daily in facilities that are over a quarter-mile long and be able to access all areas of the building (ladders, stairs).

    + Work Environment: Ability to work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, not heated, and not air-conditioned.

    + Safety: Compliant steel-toe safety shoes must be worn throughout the entire shift.

    + Team Player: Dedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer-focused manner, and promoting good housekeeping practices including support of the 5-S program
