Schedule: Full-Time, Days with Rotation (7:00 AM- 7:00 PM; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Rotation: Every other weekend & every other holiday

About the Role
As a Professional Staff Nurse on our 6 West Acute Care unit, you’ll be a vital member of the care delivery team. You’ll provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients and families, while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
+ Deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process and Relationship-Based Care model
+ Develop and implement individualized care plans
+ Educate patients and families throughout the care journey
+ Collaborate with peers and leadership to improve care quality and safety
+ Participate in shared governance, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
+ Serve as a mentor and preceptor to students and new staff
+ Maintain a healthy work-life balance and model professional accountability
• Qualifications
Education & Experience
+ Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
+ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
+ A Master’s in Nursing, DNP, or a Master’s in a related field may substitute for certification requirements
Professional Development
+ Must complete an annual professional contribution aligned with department, hospital, or system goals, approved by the Unit Director
+ One of the following is required:
+ UPMC-approved nursing certification within 1 year of hire/transfer (must be maintained)
+ Certification not required if a Master’s in Nursing or DNP is held
+ Must receive and maintain a Solid/Strong/Good or higher rating on the Professional Staff Nurse Performance Evaluation for promotion and continued status

+ Demonstrates exemplary clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
+ Ability to lead others in the application of the nursing process
+ Skilled in managing multiple priorities and operating specialized equipment in a complex environment
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
+ Builds and maintains positive, caring relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
+ Communicates effectively with executives, managers, physicians, and support staff
•♀️ Physical Requirements
+ Mobility and manual dexterity required
+ Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and patient positioning
+ **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** Additional License Requirements
+ \Annual completion of a professional contributions selected from department, hospital or system goals, and approved by Unit Director AND either: UPMC approved nursing certification required within 1 year of hire/transfer and must be maintained OR Certification not required if Master's in nursing or DNP is held.If a BSN is held, a Master's degree in a related field may be substituted in lieu of Certification. PR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located.
