**Position:** Casual Nuclear Medicine Technologist
**Location:** UPMC Cole
**Schedule:** Minimum 8 hours per two-week pay period, with potential for additional hours. Typical shift: 6:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. (subject to departmental needs)

What You’ll Do:
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you’ll play a vital role in patient diagnosis and care by performing advanced imaging procedures with precision and empathy. You’ll work independently and collaboratively, using your expertise to ensure high-quality imaging and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures with a high level of technical proficiency.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients to explain procedures and ease concerns.
• Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure efficient, patient-centered care.
• Accurately document patient history, calculate and record doses, and maintain radiopharmaceutical records.
• Ensure all imaging data is properly coded, archived, and billed using RIS and ISITE systems.
• Conduct quality control checks on imaging equipment to maintain optimal performance.
• Follow all safety protocols and use two patient identifiers for every procedure.

Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program or candidate meets NMTCB alternate eligibility criteria.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT(N) or CNMT registry or registry eligible Must obtain registry within 12 months of hire.
CPR or BLS Required.
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
If working in a NY facility, you must have received certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and be Licensed through the New York State Department of Health.
+ ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
