    Job Summary

    The Data Governance Analyst plays a key role in executing the organization's data governance strategy by supporting data quality initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enabling accurate, trustworthy data across the enterprise. This role will collaborate with stakeholders across business and IT, focusing on data assessment, validation, issue resolution, continuous improvement through automation and education, while enabling data-driven decision-making and AI capabilities across the enterprise.

    Key Responsibilities

    Data Quality & Validation

    • Conduct data quality assessments to evaluate accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

    • Develop and implement data validation and testing procedures for critical data elements (CDEs).

    • Drive data quality improvement initiatives, including profiling and cleansing.

    • Support root cause analysis for recurring data issues and implement corrective actions.

    Monitoring & Reporting

    • Design and maintain data quality dashboards and exception reports.

    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data health and governance activities.

    • Track and report on data governance metrics to management and stakeholders.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and technical teams to resolve data issues.

    • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to support data initiatives and drive accountability.

    • Build awareness and advocate for data governance best practices across the enterprise.

    Governance Support

    • Provide operational support for data governance tools and workflows.

    • Assist in maintaining metadata repositories, data dictionaries, and lineage documentation.

    • Contribute to the development and alignment of data governance standards and policies.

    Automation & Tooling

    • Leverage DQ tools and automation (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Ataccama) for profiling and remediation.

    • Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of governance platforms.

    Compliance & Documentation

    • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g., CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA).

    • Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of data quality processes and findings.

    • Deliver training and awareness sessions for business users and data stewards.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

    • 3+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or business analysis.

    • Experience with data governance and DQ tools (e.g., Informatica DQ, Collibra, Alation, Secoda).

    • Solid understanding of data management principles, compliance standards, and root cause analysis techniques.

    • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

    • Proficiency in SQL and data profiling techniques preferred.
