Job Summary

Democracy Prep Nevada, located on the Agassi Campus in West Las Vegas, is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Dining Services to lead food service operations across its three co-located schools—elementary, middle, and high school—serving over 1,250 students from kindergarten through 12th grade all in one building on the Agassi campus. Employed by Compass Group – Chartwells K12, the Director will oversee a team of dedicated food service professionals to deliver nutritious, high-quality meals in a welcoming and inclusive environment. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives on building relationships with students, staff, and the broader school community while ensuring excellence in food quality, safety, and customer service.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and communication skills, a “boots on the ground” mindset, and a passion for student well-being. Responsibilities include managing daily dining operations, promoting the dining program, and developing a dynamic catering initiative to support school events, staff functions, and community engagement. Key Responsibilities:

+ Lead, mentor, and encourage our team of 8 frontline associates.

+ Drive critical initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and increase profitability.

+ Recruit, train, and develop top talent within the organization.

+ Lead the annual budget and coordinates costs effectively.

+ Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and sanitation standards.

+ Build positive relationships with clients, customers, and associates.

+ Market the program and successfully tell its story to engage customers.

+ Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the dining service operation.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Associate’s degree in Food Services Management/Hospitality/Culinary or Nutrition preferred or equivalent experience.

+ Strong leadership skills with a proven record to cultivate an inclusive and engaging culture.

+ Skilled in crafting impactful, long-term relationships that drive program success and client satisfaction.

+ Food service management experience needed.

+ Catering experience preferred.

+ Knowledge of K12 food service experience is preferred.

+ Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed services experience.

+ Proficiency in computer skills.
