    The People and Culture (PaC) team has an exciting opening for a Director of Employee Experience and Inclusion. This is a full-time permanent position.

     

    The Director of Employee Experience and Inclusion leads University Advancement (UA) practices and initiatives to facilitate a highly engaged culture encompassing all UA staff. Through their commitment to our team-developed Advancement values, the Director leads best practices in employee experience and inclusion by shaping strategy and vision, applying inclusive frameworks, developing and implementing programs, and partnering with leaders across the organization to ensure that everyone in UA thrives in an environment of trust, belonging and purpose.

     

    The Director works collaboratively with the University Advancement Executive Strategy (EST) and Extended Leadership (XLT) teams, the PaC team, and leaders across all UW campuses and units to ensure the successful translation of strategies into actions and priorities.

    What You Will Do:** **Strategy and Planning (35%)

    • Refine and sustain a strategic planning framework and oversee the delivery of organizational initiatives, programs and policies.

    • Conduct ongoing analysis of inclusion of staff in individual units, identifying trends and modeling different options and alternatives for consideration.

    • Lead UA commitment to providing outstanding employee experiences through partnerships with the EST, XLT, PaC, Central UA and school and college UA leadership.

    • Partner with leaders and managers to understand their goals and develop practical solutions that align with the employee experience and inclusion strategy, as well as the goals and desired culture of the UW, the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity (OMAD), and UA.

    • Develop and uphold standards of practice that guide employee experience and inclusion efforts across the organization.

    • Develop resources that encompass the full spectrum of planning.

    • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices, while ensuring UA is up-to-date and in compliance with all university, local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations that govern human resource management and employment issues.

    Program Development and Management (35%)

    • Sustain and evolve existing employee experience and inclusion programs, ensuring continual relevance and impact.

    • Infuse employee experience considerations into the ongoing refinement of:

    o Strategy implementation and modeling

    o Equity Council and Committee alignment

    o Employee engagement and belonging

    o Learning and development

    o Evaluation and data analysis

    o Programmatic creation and development

    o Outcomes for Equity Council

    • Facilitate relationship-building among UA staff, ensuring a sense of trust and inclusion.

    • Work collaboratively with the Senior Associate Vice President and Senior Director, PaC on the development, implementation and expansion of UW’s employee experience and inclusion initiatives.

    • Provide coaching, direction and counsel to leadership to proactively anticipate, prevent and resolve employee experience and inclusion-related issues.

    • Interpret and align employee experience and inclusion activities with HR policies, practices and organizational philosophy.

    • Enhance onboarding and integration processes for UA in collaboration with the PaC Learning & Development team.

    • Identify, create, promote and implement UA staff employee experience and inclusion training and development needs on an individual and group basis.

    • Develop and manage workshops to promote and advance UA’s mission, vision and values.

    Leadership and Team Management (25%)

    • Build relationships with leaders at the executive level and across UA, fostering shared problem-solving, strategic consultation and alignment on employee experience and inclusion objectives.

    • Lead the implementation of programs with the employee experience and inclusion team (including contractors); ensure administration aligns with established standards and procedures; identify opportunities for improvement; and drive change.

    • Responsible for hiring, management, performance management, staff development and career enrichment for the team.

    • Create and manage the budget of the team with discretionary authority.

    • Manage a team that serves as advocates for cultural and organizational progress, drives systemic change and supports staff and stakeholders in understanding their role in advancing the employee experience and inclusion.

    Other Duties as Assigned (5%)

    • Advance special initiatives and strategic projects as requested with a continued focus on integration, alignment and sustainability.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of progressively independent and responsible experience in talent management, human resources management, or management-level administrative experience.

     

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **What You Bring:

    • Experience with coaching, influencing, facilitation, process development, analysis and problem solving.

    • Strong analytical, assessment and decision-making skills.

    • Must be self-directed and able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to quickly learn and use internal systems and tools.

    • Demonstrated ability to execute business strategy within a multi-faceted organization, preferably in a large university setting.

    What You Can Expect:

    • Cubicle/open workspace environment which may result in additional or higher levels of noise and visual distractions.

    • Some evening and weekend hours, as necessary, on short or limited notice.

    • Some local travel required, as needed.
