**Austin Industries** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Senior Communications Specialist** at our corporate headquarters in **Dallas, Texas.** The talented senior communications specialist will help lead and actively cultivate Austin’s communication strategy, providing exemplary customer service and support to Austin Industries and its operating companies. We need a seasoned, multi-voiced writer, who has demonstrated the ability to adapt and manage multiple concurrent priorities. This role requires a team player, one who can assist in leading communication efforts with stakeholders at all levels. Responsibilities:
+ Develop, implement, and lead strategic communications plans in support of enterprise, operating company, and shared-service departmental initiatives
+ Work closely with key partners in business development and marketing to support advertising, proposals, and other customer- and external-facing initiatives
+ Drive the creation, editing, and publication of communications, in collaboration with subject-matter experts, across diverse channels, both internal and external:
+ Internal channels include the internal company news hubs (via SharePoint), Austin’s intranet, our printed employee-owner newsletter, and all enterprise email-based communications
+ Develop, with minimal direction, timely articles that promote Austin initiatives and successes to employee-owners
+ External channels include company website, company social media profiles.
+ Develop a robust social media content strategy and calendar to engage external audiences
+ Serve as a communications portfolio advisor, acting as a primary communications contact for stakeholders across the organization
+ Support internal customers with graphic design, copyediting, and event photography/videography
+ Support coordination, booking, and management of external relationships in support of Austin’s bi-annual employee-owner and senior leadership meetings
+ Ensure communication for Austin is great – and always getting better
Qualifications:
+ Minimum 2-4 years of corporate communications experience that demonstrates increasing responsibility and output
+ A college degree that makes sense for the job, preferably in journalism, communications, or related field – OR – commensurate experience in corporate communications
Requirements:
+ A portfolio which demonstrates your excellent writing, creative, and technical skills
+ Excellent verbal, written, and digital communications skills, and an ability to communicate complex topics in a compelling manner
+ A strong motivation and work ethic in support of Austin’s mission and core values
+ Strong editorial judgment and demonstrated proficiency in original content creation
+ The ability to self-start, able to work independently and efficiently – get information and direction when needed and GO!
+ Demonstrated experience planning, creating and maintaining a communications and/or social media calendar and posts
+ A learner’s mindset: attention to detail, great listening skills, and an attitude of service to improve and adapt on the fly
+ Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
+ Experience using email marketing tools such as Constant Contact, Mailchimp, or similar
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Level up with these skills:
+ Experience in creation and publication of business development proposals, marketing materials
+ Demonstrated strength in desktop publishing and proficiency in Adobe InDesign
+ Experience in video production, with a good eye and understanding of video/audio recording best practices
+ Microsoft SharePoint experience, particularly with modern news sites
