**Summary Description:** Supports the business strategies by effectively managing the IT operations organization. This position is responsible for the datacenter, network, service desk, NOC and field services functions along with IT asset and records management. This position leads the planning, implementation and support of the company’s IT infrastructure and manages projects that may cross multiple functional areas.
**Academic and Trade Qualifications:** Bachelor’s degree required, with a concentration in computer science, information and technology or a related field preferred. Certificate in Supervisory Management from an accredited school is preferred.
**Work Experience:** A minimum of twenty (20) years’ experience in the planning, implementation and support of datacenter, network and cybersecurity technologies is required. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a senior information technology leadership position is required. Experience with electric cooperative’s operations is preferred.
**Responsibilities:** Creates and executes the business and IT department’s strategic plans to ensure that BITS is responsive to the needs of the corporate goals and objectives. Advises senior leadership on strategic technology investments and project prioritization. Ensures the integration of cybersecurity through all technology related systems, business tools, IT and OT networks. Assess new information technologies to be integrated and introduced within the company. Helps refine and establish project charters and reviews project plans to assure departmental project guidelines are being followed and applied. Safeguards the highest overall availability, performance and security standards are maintained in support of all NCEMC and member IT infrastructure. Responsible for the execution of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures and plans. Protects confidential information, including unauthorized use, dissemination or publication of confidential information. Serves as liaison to member cooperatives’ IT organizations and works to provide support services to meet their technology needs. Manages external vendor relationships, reviews and approves contracts for major infrastructure purchases and external services. Oversees the development of BITS infrastructure budget.
**Job Knowledge:** Extensive knowledge of datacenter, network, and support operations and sound knowledge of cybersecurity, documentation processes, operational procedures, and project planning/management is required. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and vendor management is required. Experience with electric cooperative accounting system, project management, budgeting, transmission, and generation operations is preferred.
**Abilities and Skills:** Ability to motivate teams to produce quality work on time while simultaneously managing several projects is required. Experience in operational planning and execution, effective oral and written communication, and presentation skills is required. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective customer, partner and colleague relationships.
**Relationships and Contacts:** Must be able to maintain internal relationships necessary to achieve the purpose of the position and the desired results. Work cooperatively with staff members of other divisions and key partners to resolve mutual operational problems and meet corporate policies, procedures and goals. Position shall interact with vendors, consultants and contractors as necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.
**Reports to:** Chief Information Officer
**Working Conditions:** Normal business hours, with limited overtime as required.
