Caterpillar is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Engineer in Waco, TX. In this role, you are responsible for efforts to develop, test, and implement the Plan for Every Part supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) and continuous improvement efforts in incorporating supply chain performance levels for inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order-to-delivery results while also gaining agreement across multi-functional teams through the end-to-end Supply Chain.
What you can look forward to in this role:
+ Gathering and analyzing part, supplier, and flow characteristics which develops the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) for the facility for each part number for new product introduction
+ Work with cross functional team and suppliers to develop value stream maps, returnable loops sizes, assistance and support in business cases/total cost of ownership analysis for packaging projects, vendor managed inventory, and/or tracking and development of packaging budget, and working with suppliers on packaging form documentation
+ Working effectively with diverse, multi-functional teams to apply the supply chain planning process and leading team efforts to develop lean material flow plans which may include implementing changes to layout, packaging design, and material presentation for all material coming into the facility
+ Performing work to achieve supply chain performance targets focused on inventory reduction, increased inventory turns, and improved order-to-delivery results
+ Support analysis, investigation, and root cause and corrective action for PFEP related issues
+ Leading the work of Supply Chain Planning Analyst in the documentation of this data into the Plan for Every Part tools and ensure accuracy of the data
+ Performing physical, tactical work to reduce / eliminate supply chain constraints at both the facility and/or value stream level, working with a cross-functional team of personnel

+ **Problem Solving:** Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
+ **Supply Chain Management - MFG:** Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
+ College or university degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management or Industrial Engineering
+ Must possess leadership skills to effectively lead supply chain improvements
+ Experience in SAP
+ Previous Work Tools Experience
+ Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures and solid product knowledge
+ A background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing / Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning, Demand Management and/or Logistics
+ Certification in APICS CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, or CTSC

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00
