Job Title: Ambulatory Nurse II – Device Clinic (Electrophysiology)
Schedule: M-F Day
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse with Electrophysiology (EP) experience to join our Device Clinic team. The Ambulatory Nurse II will provide expert care to patients with implanted cardiac devices, ensuring optimal device function and patient education under the supervision of attending physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct comprehensive office visits for patients with implanted cardiac devices, performing device interrogations to evaluate functionality and make necessary adjustments in collaboration with the supervising physician or APP.
+ Educate patients on the operation and management of their implanted cardiac devices, emphasizing their role in maintaining optimal device performance and health outcomes.
+ Perform clinical assessments to identify signs and symptoms of cardiac conditions such as arrhythmias, heart failure, and ischemia; coordinate care with attending physicians and nursing teams as appropriate.
+ Review and interpret remote device interrogations, monitoring for device-related issues and patient cardiac status based on arrhythmia detection and device measurements.
+ Triage patient alerts related to device malfunctions, arrhythmias, or fluid overload, initiating timely interventions and communication with the care team.
+ Collaborate with Electrophysiology staff to track and manage device advisories, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and appropriate follow-up.
+ Communicate with patients prior to procedures, providing pre-procedure instructions, medication guidance, and education regarding procedural expectations and post-procedure care.
+ Manage the EP nursing pool by responding promptly to patient calls and messages, and supporting other clinicians as needed.
+ Conduct wound assessments and provide wound care for patients following device implantation procedures.
Credentials:
+ BLS/ACLS/PALS; per specialty (Required)
+ RN Required with state licensure. (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ Diploma or ASN from an accredited school of nursing and more than 15 months of relevant professional nursing experience. (Required)
+ BSN from an accredited school of nursing and more than 15 months relevant professional nursing experience. (Preferred)
