GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE** **FUNCTION

QUALIFICATIONS** **REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR** **EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree preferred in Education, Administration or Curriculum, Student Personnel, Social Work and related fields
+ Case load management ability
+ Skills in human relations
+ Previous experience in working with inner city or rural public schools
+ Specific knowledge in career counseling, educational opportunities, and financial aid
+ 5 years of experience working with high-risk or disadvantage students
+ Excellent oral and communication skills
+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** , include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
+ Conduct orientation workshops for student, parents, community and other related entities
+ Screen applicants for participant eligibility
+ Assess participants’ needs for tutorial services
+ Refer ineligible students to appropriate or alternative services
+ Maintain participants’ files
+ Assist participants in completing admissions and financial aid applications
+ Meet with school principals on a regular basis
+ Coordinate TS staff visits to school sites
+ Coordinate campus and college visits
+ Coordinate and conduct FAFSA Workshops for parents and participants
+ Conduct participant follow-up surveys
+ Participate in staff development and in-service meetings
+ Provide Monthly Report on activities and numbers of students served
+ Work with target school counselors in coordinating project activities
+ Be familiar with and adhere to college policies and procedures
+ Perform all other duties as required to achieve programs goals and objectives
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
+ Positive customer service skills.
+ Proficiency in MS Office
+ Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
+ Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to work with others effectively.
+ Understanding of and ability to work with low-income, first-generation, and at-risk students.
+ Ability to work as a team player in a diverse working environment.
+ Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with middle and high schools and college faculty and students.
+ Strong organizational and conflict management skills.
+ Empathetic and positive relationship builder.
+ Knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to perform the function of the position.
