    Position Summary:

    The Clinical Product Designer (PD) at Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) creates actionable, insightful, and intuitive digital products that drive high-quality care management and care delivery for our membership. This role organizes, monitors, and implements the design and delivery of products including a set of critical Looker dashboards utilized daily by our clinical teams to monitor member health and improve outcomes. The PD is a bridging role that translates complex business processes and Clinical priorities into innovative dashboards to prioritize member care.

     

    Internally, the Product Designer reports to the Product Manager on the Product Management Team. The Product Designer triages incoming requests for new dashboards and reporting tools, as well as reported errors on existing products. This role collaborates closely with Product Developers, Product Managers, Clinicians, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to understand Clinical needs, design solutions, and incorporate analytic learnings into visualizations for Clinical use. This role additionally participates in overall analytic community in developing data and definitions as part of overall data governance and analytic support across the organization.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Perform request intake duties meeting with requestors as needed; gathering and documenting business requirements and use cases

    • Translate business requirements into actionable technical requirements, coordinating development and configuration needs with the Product Development Team

    • Create solutions to complex workflows using design practices and visualization resulting in data products that are intuitive and easy to use for clinicians and other stakeholders

    • Triage and troubleshoot and resolve errors and discrepancies originating in the UI; engage the Product Delivery Team for reported errors originating in the underlying data models

    • Support users and stakeholders’ use of data platform and products hosted on the platform by creating reference documentation and maintaining a collection of resources to assist in product use and uptake

    • Manage communication strategy with front-end users providing regular updates and education about using products supported by the team

    • Schedule and lead knowledge sharing and educational sessions with users and stakeholders about data products, creating content as needed to facilitate the uptake of products and platform use.

    • Maintain libraries of policies and procedure documentation utilized by the Clinical Product Design Team

    • Coordinate the implementation of new predictive models and data products

    Required Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree

    Desired Education:

    • Master’s degree

    Required Experience:

    • 3 years of equivalent work experience

    Desired Experience:

    • Population Health or STEM major or related field preferred

    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Experience in presenting data in an intuitive manner for easy use

    • Advanced data visualization software experience (Looker, Tableau or PowerBI, for example)

    • Advanced SQL and data handling experience in BigQuery, SQLServer, or similar

    • Familiarity with ELT data modeling, especially dbt

    • Experience in data modeling and troubleshooting

    • Self-motivated, goal-driven, results-oriented, organized, and flexible

    • Able to take initiative to own projects and work independently

    • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

    • Able to and happy to "educate" tech/non-technical audiences

    • Able to work with an interdisciplinary team

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Familiarity with clinical datasets and healthcare terms

    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office

    • Excellent presentation and training skills

    • Experience working with EHRs

    • Ability to understand the big picture and how people, processes, and technology connect
