    Overview

     

    The Manager of Clinical Services of the PICU plays a vital leadership role in the oversight of daily operations, clinical excellence, staff development, and the promotion of CHLA’s high standards of compassionate, family-centered care. This leader is responsible for setting the tone for a professional practice environment and fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and evidence-based practice. The Manager ensures optimal patient outcomes through continuous performance and quality improvement, resource management, and regulatory compliance. This role includes direct engagement in strategic planning, team building, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Manager empowers frontline staff through coaching, education, and delegation, while also ensuring that all practices are developmentally and age-appropriate across the continuum of pediatric critical care.

     

    The PICU at CHLA is a 36-bed, high-acuity unit spanning two hospital locations. Our team provides multidisciplinary, family-centered care to critically ill infants, children, and young adults with complex medical and surgical needs. Our patient population includes:

     

    Post-liver and kidney transplant patients

     

    Level I trauma cases

     

    Patients with rare or complex diagnoses

     

    Advanced respiratory and cardiac support needs

     

    We leverage the latest therapies, technologies, and team-based approaches to deliver world-class intensive care.

     

    **Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:** 3–5 years of progressive PICU clinical experience required; Previous leadership or management experience strongly preferred; Proven success in team leadership, problem-solving, and quality improvement initiatives; Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; Effective team builder and motivator; Highly organized and adept at managing multiple priorities; Demonstrated ability to lead through change and inspire clinical excellence

    **Education/Licensure/Certifications:** Master’s degree in Nursing or related field required. Current California license in your respective discipline and American Heart Association CPR, BLS and PALS certification and National Certification required.

     

    Pay Scale Information

     

    $151,861.00-$260,333.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
