    Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

     

    We are looking for two Associate Producers to join our MSNBC Audio Unit. This role will work across multiple podcasts and projects. The APs’ primary roles will be to support the unit with a combination of administrative duties (such as organizing tape, booking studios, and updating show websites), and editorial roles (fact checking, cutting tape, and researching). The APs will work closely with podcast producers on series-level assignments and one-off episodes, typically working under tight deadlines. The APs will know how to edit audio and occasionally take the lead in junior-level assignments. The APs should have an interest in news and politics, as well as a basic understanding of narrative storytelling. Adherence to journalistic best practices is a must.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    + Support in-person and virtual recordings by sending mic kits & organizing incoming tape

    + Locate, organize and edit file tape

    + Conduct research & assist with fact checking

    + Write draft scripts & prep documents

    + Cut tape in Pro Tools and Descript

    + Order graphics for our YouTube posts

    + Manage listener mail

    + Publish episodes onto podcast platforms

    + Order transcripts & post to show websites

    + Gather marketing and social media materials

    + Post TV special coverage as audio-only offerings

    + Work closely with manager and teammates to make sure everything is accomplished

    Additional Requirements

    Must be willing to work varied shifts as news changes

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

    + Minimum 2 years of audio production experience, preferably in podcasting

    + Technical expertise in ProTools and Descript

    + Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects under deadline

    This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
