FlynnO'Hara Uniforms is looking for a (Seasonal/PT, AM availability a must) cashier for its Staten Island, NY location. A cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions and managing payments in a retail setting. This role involves operating cash registers or POS systems, scanning items, accepting various payment methods, issuing receipts, and providing accurate change. The cashier will also play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service by answering questions, resolving issues, and contributing to a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Processing

+ Accurately scan and ring up purchases

+ Accept payments (cash, credit, debit)

+ Provide receipts and correct change

Customer Service

+ Greet customers and assist with inquiries

+ Address concerns or complaints promptly and professionally

+ Support customers with locating or purchasing items

Cash Handling

+ Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts

+ Ensure accuracy in all monetary transactions

Work Area Maintenance

+ Keep checkout stations clean and well-organized

+ Restock register supplies as needed

Product Knowledge

+ Stay informed on product locations, prices, promotions, and store policies

+ Use this knowledge to support and guide customers

Skills and Qualifications

+ Strong customer service and communication abilities

+ Accurate cash handling and basic math skills

+ Comfortable using POS systems and basic technology
