WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Sr. Business Development Director** for our **Transportation Operations and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Business** . This position may be based **out of any mutually agreed upon WSP USA Office** .
Your Impact
+ Responsible for the development, oversight and management of all aspects of the existing and future business acquisition within the Transportation Operations and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) business line.
+ Develop and oversee the capture of unified Transportation Operations, ITS, and related market opportunities, introducing best practices and innovation to our customers.
+ Contribute to the expansion of the Intelligent Mobility business to include additional related services where WSP has expertise.
+ Drive the overall long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of transportation operations, ITS, and other intelligent mobility work for WSP in assigned area of responsibility, with a focus on multi-modal infrastructure opportunities in all disciplines (planning, design, and strategic consulting and program/construction management).
+ Capture the complete Transportation Operations, ITS, TMC, and transit market in North America.
+ Work though requirements to do business with various state and local markets.
+ Meet with the Project Managers regularly during the contract to discuss general progress and direction of the ITS business.
+ Act as the designated liaison with the agencies for the management of the contract, and coordinate with the management of the subconsultants to fulfill the duties and obligations of the contract including daily operations.
+ Interface with representatives of other agencies/organizations on issues to support business development opportunities related to WSP operations.
+ Coordinate with technical leads on all subconsultants working as part of the Consultant’s team for the pursuits.
+ Oversee the development of internal and external communications and growth strategy.
+ Prepare weekly, monthly, and biannual performance measure dashboards and reports in compliance with corporate requirements.
+ Lead national business development activities for ITS, including the identification of project leads with prospective clients and developing a pre-positioning plan to enhance the likelihood of WSP success in landing the project.
+ Support national and local office business development and project delivery activities, with attention to maintaining WSP’s leadership in innovation and quality.
+ Support branding of WSP through attendance and presentation at national and international professional conferences and organizations and engaging in leading-edge research through targeted presentations and publications.
+ Drive the overall long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of Intelligent Mobility opportunities within the Transportation Operations and ITS business line.
+ Serve as a representative/liaison to a variety of external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
+ Minimum of 15 years overall experience.
+ Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Transportation Operations, ITS, or similar roles in the transportation sector.
+ Extensive experience in managing projects and tasks from inception to completion.
+ 5 years’ experience in leading small to midsized teams of employees.
+ 5 years’ experience in writing and revising scope and cost proposals, developing procedures and protocols, and equipment & supplies ordering, recordkeeping and inventory.
+ Evidence of leadership qualities and ability to network with clients and others in the field.
+ Active engagement in relevant industry organizations.
+ Ability to work in a team environment and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exists.
+ Strategic lateral thinking and strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities in a pressure work environment.
+ Immediate ability to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
+ MBA
+ Business Development training.
+ Business operations training with A/E firm.
+ Past project management experience and successes with analyzing, developing, and/or deploying TSMO and ITS programs for state and federal departments of transportation.
+ Recognized for technical excellence and thought leadership in TSMO, ITS, and innovative transportation technologies.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.
+ Training in personnel management, public relations, or similar skills.
+ Must be able to respond to problem situations 24 hours a day.
Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $240.000 - $280,00
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
Expected Salary (Colorado only): $240,000 - $280,000
